She was born on April 11, 1959 in Havana, Cuba, but she grew up in emigrated Puerto Rico, where Polo attended the Academia del Perpetuo Socorro. Then, she emigrated to Miami. She discovered her musical talent while studing in secondry school and participated in some musicals with his sister Alina.
