He was born and raised in his birthplace. He studied at Noblesville High School in 2007. Later, he completed his higher education from Purdue University. He started diving career in 2000. They are behind the Aisen Chen and Lin Yue, the pair managed to win gold with the total score of 496.98. 

He married his longtime girlfriend Sonnie Brand in 2012. He met her in Purdue in University and fallen in love with her. Since the date he got married to his wife, he is spending a wonderful and happy moment with him.
