Career

George Lamond is a well-known freestyle and salsa vocalist from the United States.
The independent label Ligosa Records published Lamond’s debut song “Bad of the Heart” in 1989. “Freestyle,” as the song was swiftly dubbed, was a dance/pop subgenre with roots in New York City’s Latino populations in the early 1980s. Lamond’s sophomore album, In My Life, was released in 1992, with the lead song, “Where Does That Leave Love,” charting at number one. Later the same year, Lamond released Creo En Ti, his third album and first in Spanish, through Sony Discos, generating two Top 15 Billboard Latin Singles, “Baby, Creo En Ti” and “No Moreira,” the latter of which featured Lisa Lopez.
Lamond’s fifth album, The Successes and More, was published in 1999 on Robbins Entertainment and featured a compilation of his prior Anglo hits as well as new songs.
Lamond’s sixth album, GL, his sophomore salsa album, debuted at #15 on Billboard’s Tropical/Salsa Albums list in 2001.
After a sabbatical from recording, Giuseppe D, a producer buddy, approached Lamond with the idea of releasing a dance-pop rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.”
Lamond played at a 25th-anniversary event on October 24, 2014, at Resorts World Casino in New York City. He introduced new English and salsa songs from an upcoming album in early 2015. In conclusion, George Lamond is on his path to becoming a successful professional American freestyle and salsa singer.
